Founder & Clinical Director
Summer Watson, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in the state of Kentucky, is the founder and CEO of Heart Cry for Hope, PLLC. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. In 2011, she obtained her credential as a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor from the International Board of Biblical Counseling. At the end of 2016, Mrs. Watson was appointed by Governor Matthew Bevin to serve on the State Board of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors. For more than 17 years, she has treated severe mental illness, provided crisis intervention services and coordinated mental health care for people in need. Summer Watson is a presidential member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Shawna Shartzer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky, is a 2012 graduate of Western Kentucky University. She has been providing professional, mental health counseling for more than 7 years in South Central Kentucky. She is a member of the Kentucky Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention and serves on the coalition which supports community efforts across Barren, Hart and Metcalfe Counties. Shawna is deeply committed to her clients at Heart Cry for Hope, eagerly helping them to overcome complicated life struggles. Shawna Shartzer is a presidential member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Amanda Burd, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Kentucky, is a 2007 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development. Her professional career spans 8 years working with children, adolescents and adults suffering with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and substance abuse disorders. Amanda is blazing a trail at Heart Cry for Hope, under the leadership of Christ, working to restore the lives of children and their families. Amanda Burd is a presidential member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Diana Pannell has been employed at Heart Cry for Hope for more than 2 years providing exceptional client care that is second to none. She is passionate about being the hands and feet of Christ, meeting people in their moment of crisis, working to coordinate resources and collaborate with other professionals. Diana has more than 20 years of experience that spans working with children and adults in various capacities. She is deeply committed to the clients at Heart Cry for Hope. Diana Pannell is a presidential member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
